<image:title>Our Story - How Can All Good Bananas be Better for You?</image:title>
<image:caption>As well as being free of the cocktail of chemicals used in conventional banana production, our bananas are packed with energy and healthy nutrition making them the perfect addition to any lunchbox, athlete’s diet, guilt free get-up-and-go snack for breakfast of champions. Packed full of natural sugar that’s readily converted into energy (glucose, fructose, sucrose) and fiber, bananas are an ideal snack for an immediate and prolonged power surge. This is why athletes love them, because these sugars and the potassium they contain deliver such a high-energy hit. Bananas also contain some powerfully good natural nutrients including vitamin B6 and tryptophan, a type of protein your body converts into serotonin. This helps you relax, improving your mood and generally making you feel good. With All Good Bananas you can eat healthy with a healthy conscience. That's why it’s in our name.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Story - Fairtrade Also Offers Something Else: Independence</image:title>
<image:caption>Fairtrade standards guarantee farmers and workers the security of a stable price all year round with an annual collectively negotiated minimum purchase price. Fairtrade also offers something else: independence. On top of the price paid for their bananas, the El Guabo cooperative earn a Fairtrade Premium of 7 to 10 cents per bunch. The $2,100,000 of this Fairtrade Premium funding All Good have contributed has supported school kids, a free medical centre, a special needs school as well as sustainable farming initiatives.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Story - Good for Growers, Good for the Land, Good for You</image:title>
<image:caption>All Good are here to bring you food that’s good for the land, good for the growers and good for you because we believe Fairtrade and organic shouldn’t be exceptions, everything we consume should be fair and good for all of us — especially what we eat. Our founders, Chris and Matt Morrison and Simon Coley, launched All Good by importing New Zealand’s first Fairtrade and organic bananas back in 2010. Their challenge was convincing people that paying a dollar more for an ethical bunch of bananas was a better deal for them, the people who grew them and the planet. Eight years later, thanks to the millions of All Good Bananas purchased by Kiwi families, over 150 small banana farming families in El Guabo, Ecuador are being paid fairly and All Good have been able to contribute more than $1,400,000 back to the El Guabo Association of Small Banana Farmers benefiting their community’s health and wellbeing, education, the sustainability of the land they farm and the surrounding rainforest. And our Kiwi customers have been able to enjoy our great tasting do-gooding bananas. Which is all good.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Story - Naturally Better</image:title>
<image:caption>All Good Fairtrade Organically Grown Bananas are certified to USDA National Organic Programme standards and EU/JAS Organic Certified. They are tested every three months for pesticide residues and often report zero residues. All Good Fairtrade Bananas are certified by Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International (FLO). A report commissioned in 2016 compares pesticide usage schemes of different producers and shows there are significant differences between pesticide use in countries of origin. Factors taken into account include: ● the fate of these chemicals in the environment and how they disperse; ● exposure to organisms and the effect of the chemicals on flora and fauna; ● local climate data. Combined with the amount used and the overall toxic impact. The way All Good Bananas are farmed is measurably better than conventional banana production.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Story - Not All Bananas are Created Equal</image:title>
<image:caption>It’s our belief that we can’t ignore the consequences, human or environmental, of growing the food we all eat and enjoy, even though it may happen in places far from home. In an enlightened world we should treat the people who grow our food as if they lived right next door. This is our credo and the way we go about our work, but it hasn’t always been the way in the banana business. Fairtrade banana certification was established to right the wrongs foisted on small banana farmers selling to intermediaries, representing multi-national banana exporters, who would regularly force them to sell their fruit for less than the cost of production. The same farmers and farm workers were also forced to work in hazardous conditions with agro-chemicals that were dangerous to their health and polluted the surrounding soil and water. Fairtrade standards also ensure these farmers a healthy working environment and a commitment to sustainability and horticultural practice that replenishes the land rather than depleting it. All Good are 100% New Zealand owned and operated, and like the organic Fairtrade farmers we work with, we’re a small business trying to make a big difference. This is how we do it.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Story - The World Eats More than 100 Billion Bananas Every Year</image:title>
<image:caption>Most of these bananas come from industrial scale banana plantations where the massive demand for fruit at very low prices forces growers to push the soil beyond its natural ability. They grow banana plants at unsustainable yields by using chemical fertilisers and aerial spraying pesticides, herbicides and fungicides to control pests. Overspray adversely affects the surrounding rainforest and communities. The El Guabo Association are committed to farming in a more sustainable way. Farmers in El Guabo use organic fertiliser and sustainable inputs to protect the health of their plants, soil, water and the people living on and around their farms. The use of chemicals to control pests on All Good Bananas grown in El Guabo is estimated to be 5 – 10% of the use in conventional banana plantations. Fairtrade standards prohibit over 120 toxic substances used in fresh fruit production.</image:caption>

By trading ginger beer for bananas All Good has enabled him to get back into the ethical food business. In 2012, Chris was named Sustainability Champion by the Sustainable Business Network for his ongoing commitment to ethical business. <image:caption>From the Army to NZ Treasury, Matt Morrison has had an intriguing career history. Most recently as a senior advisor at Treasury, Matt was responsible for monitoring the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Fisheries and the New Zealand Food Safety Authority. This latest project is just as close to home, bringing Ecuadorian bananas to New Zealand. Brothers, Matt and Chris have been working together on a range of different sustainable business initiatives for the past few years.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Goods - All Good Fairtrade Bananas</image:title>
<image:caption>Our original great tasting, do gooding Fairtrade bananas. All Good Fairtrade bananas are grown on small family farms with organic fertiliser, clean soil & fresh water. Fairtrade ensures farmers and their families get a fair deal while you get healthy, great tasting bananas. Our bananas are sourced directly from the El Guabo Cooperative of 150 family farms in Ecuador. El Guabo is one of the oldest Fairtrade cooperatives in the world with some farms passed down over generations. All the natural goodness of bananas and a fair deal for our friends who grow them — All Good.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Goods - All Good Organic Mangos</image:title>
<image:caption>What’s the next best thing to an All Good banana? An All Good mango? We thought so. So we searched for mangos that would be good for the land, good for the growers and good for you, just like our bananas. We found them in Sinaloa Mexico where Manuel Salvador Echeagaray Palacios started growing mangos as a young man of 18 on just five hectares of land. He’s a pioneering organic farmer. Manuel’s mangos are certified to the USDA-NOP organic standard. These standards guarantee his mangos are grown without the use of harmful chemicals, synthetic fertilisers or pesticides. To manage weeds and pests and nurture his fruit Manuel only uses plant and animal matter on his crops keeping both his soil and his fruit healthy. This sustainable approach is good for the land, good for Manuel, his co-workers and family, and good for you. Now you can enjoy the sweetest Mexican Mangos knowing they are All Good.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Goods - All Good Organically Grown Fairtrade Bananas</image:title>
<image:caption>Just like our original All Good Bananas farmed with organic certification. All Good Organically Grown Fairtrade bananas have the added guarantee of supporting sustainable and regenerative farming that comes with organic certification. El Guabo’s organic farmers are certified by the US Department of Agriculture’s National Organic Progamme (USDA-NOP) and European Union organic standards. Like BioGro in New Zealand the USDA’s organic standards set out strict production methods integrating cultural, biological, and mechanical practice that cycles resources, promotes ecological balance and conserves biodiversity. Our organic bananas are grown to certified standards but like any imported fruit, to meet our strict biosecurity standards, they undergo MPI fumigation on arrival in New Zealand. MPI need to treat shipments to make sure they don’t contain any Ecuadorian stowaways.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Goods - All Good Organic Banana Chunks</image:title>
<image:caption>A delicious energy boosting snack in a handy pack. Organically grown on small family farms in Samoa, dried Misiluki bananas are perfect for sports, snacks and school lunch boxes. Best of all these little lady finger Misiluki bananas are naturally sweeter than the more widely available Cavendish bananas so they’re a sweet, healthy, tasty treat on their own. No preservatives, no sugar, no sweetener. Nothing but banana and a little lime juice, hot air dried to intensify their delicious flavour. Like everything we make, All Good Banana Chunks deliver a fair deal for farmers and their families in Samoa and great tasting banana chunks for you.</image:caption>
