| For every pair of adult banana ‘philanthropants’ sold, $5 and a bunch of our bananas will be donated to Kaibosh Food Rescue in Wellington, a fantastic not-for-profit committed to zero food
waste and zero food poverty. The face (and bum) behind this limited-edition banana philanthropants print is comedian Guy Williams. “Bendon have Heidi Klum, Jockey have the All Blacks, we wanted someone to connect with the people and fortunately Guy was willing to model for us in his undies,” says Simon. “We believe having his booty behind the campaign will help us raise a whole bunch of money and bananas to help people in need.” The banana Thunderpants had their world preview at the Newtown Festival in Wellington on Mar 8, 2015. The dashing men’s fitted boxer and women’s pants in classic Thunderpants style sport a specially designed All Good Banana print. Begging the question, ‘is that a banana on your pants or are you just happy to see me.’ They are locally made with 100% organic cotton. Thunderpants and All Good have been wanting to collaborate for a while as two local companies doing good with shared sustainable, ethical and Kiwi values says Josie Bidwill co-founder of Thunderpants. “After knocking our heads together for a little while we came up with the perfect mash-up, bananas and undies that fight food poverty - philanthropants.” What better charity to support than and ethical one that supports zero food poverty, Kaibosh New Zealand’s first food rescue organisation. “Kaibosh do fantastic work in the community and we wholeheartedly support their values and mission for zero food waste and zero food poverty. We’re keen to give back to those who need it most,” says Josie. Kaibosh works with local Wellington food retailers and producers to rescue quality surplus food and provide it to community groups who support individuals and families in “All Good bananas help to lift small farmers out of poverty on the other side of the world. We’ve always been frustrated by the amount of fresh produce that goes to waste at this end of the supply chain when people in need really struggle to get access to enough food to feed their families.
