We're pretty excited to announce that we've made the list of the World's Most Ethical Companies for the second year in a row!
The World's Most Ethical Companies list is compiled each year by the New York based Ethisphere Institute, an independent centre of research promoting best practices in corporate ethics and governance. The award recognises organisations that continue to raise the bar on ethical leadership. This prestigious international list includes 143 companies world-wide, spanning 41 industries, 22 countries and 5 continents. But only one Kiwi company made the cut - that's us! This year's recognition is doubly awesome because as well as the work we are doing with Fairtrade banana farmers, it acknowledges what we're doing with our Karma Cola range of drinks in Sierra leone, Paraguay, Papua New Guinea and Sri Lanka. This year we've managed to build a bridge in Boma where we get our cola nut from and are helping 15 young girls go to school, thanks to Kiwi and Aussie consumers drinking our drinks and part of the proceeds from each bottle going back to help the Boma community. As our director Simon says: "We're stoked that the Ethisphere Institute have seen what we're up to and recognised our efforts this way. We believe being an ethical business is about having integrity all the way through our business and along our supply chain from the people who grow our ingredients in the developing world to the people who eat and drink them right here in New Zealand. As a small Kiwi company with just over 4 years under our belt, to get this kind of recognition for our commitment to ethical business is fantastic."
