All Good’s Oat Milk is Milky without the moo. It’s created using a special enzyme process - making it creamy, oh-so-tasty, and easy to foam up in a coffee:
● It’s light on the oaty flavour, so perfect for coffee or a cold glass of milk
● When it’s frothed, it creates a thick creamy texture - similar to dairy
● As it isn’t nut-based, it appeals to a wide range of plant and dairy drinkers
● It’s great in coffee because it’s specifically formulated to froth to a silky, creamy consistency
● Wins on taste when placed in a blind taste test with other oat milk brands
Where are All Good’s Oats from?
To reduce our footprint, we currently use oats grown in Sweden and Finland. Sending Oats to Sweden from New Zealand, to have then sent back again, creates more harm to the environment than necessary - and would create additional costs - and we didn’t feel comfortable passing that onto you, our consumers.
Because we’re a New Zealand business we’re working closely with farmers in Southland on some new cultivars of oats that will revolutionise the industry — and make All Good Oat Milk even better — right here in New Zealand!
What is a beta-glucan?
Oats naturally contain beta-glucans. They are a sugar compound and are a natural source of soluble fibre. Evidence suggests beta-glucan may help lower blood cholesterol, especially the ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol.
What oil do you use in All Good Oat Milk?
Our Oat Milk contains rapeseed oil that is locally produced in Sweden and is non-GMO. Plant milks often feature oil in their ingredients list, the reason we use rapeseed oil is because of its neutral taste and it also helps us deliver the best texture (and for performance when foaming for coffee). It also helps give a balanced nutritional profile and gives our Oat Milk a creamy texture perfect for your morning cuppa. The percentage of rapeseed oil is 0.8% for the Original and 2.3% for the Barista blend.
Is All Good Oat milk sweetened?
We don’t sweeten All Good Oat Milk, as our oats are best left as nature intended. Any sugars present in the nutrition panel are naturally-occurring – they come from the oats – and these intrinsic sugars are not ones we need to worry about. Oat milk’s slightly sweet flavour is down to these natural sugars.
Does All Good Oat Milk contain traces of nuts or eggs?
Allergens are an increasing concern since they can cause immediate and sometimes severe symptoms. Handling allergens and making sure allergens do not contaminate any of our non-allergen products is part of the work our manufacturing partner does. Our manufacturer does not work with products or ingredients containing peanuts or nuts, and eggs are not on the line where our Oat Milk is produced.
Does All Good Oat Milk contain gluten?
Yes, oats contain gluten.
Is All Good Oat Milk GMO-free and vegan?
Yes, it is GMO-free and vegan - our oat milk is good for you and good for the land.
Is All Good Oat Milk organic?
All Good Oat Milk is not certified organic. We believe in the power of Good and delivering tasty, sustainable, and good-for-you products to New Zealanders. We want to provide products that are good for you, good for growers and good for the land.
While All Good’s Oat Milk is not organic, it ticks two of our boxes - it’s good for the land and good for you. Oat Milk is one of the most sustainable plant milks to produce, as it requires less water to grow and produces fewer C02 emissions. We appreciate that our customers will have concerns in regards to certain pesticides being used on oat crops, which is a challenge a lot of oat milk brands face. We want to be completely transparent with our customers, and can confirm our Oat Milk has been residue tested by Eurofins, and the results on the residues tested show no traces of residues. Our oat farmers do not use Glyphosate spray from sowing of the seeds to harvest.
We had to make the tough decision to move ahead with a non organic product in order to help introduce more plant milk options to New Zealanders. But we are very much driven by our desire to deliver the best and are working with our manufacturer to produce organic oat milk, which we’re hoping to release in 2023.
Why do you use Tetra Pak and can it be recycled in New Zealand?
Tetra Pak is currently the best option available to All Good to provide great tasting Oat Milk safely to our customers. We are always looking for alternative options, but other materials like glass and plastic create a larger carbon and water footprint than we are comfortable with, even when they are recycled.
ThinkStep NZ has completed a full carbon footprint life-cycle assessment of the 9 leading milk packaging options. Cartons, including ours, came out as the most carbon friendly option, other environmental factors were also considered. Glass and PET were significantly worse options even when glass was assumed to be recycled and cartons were not.
At the moment our cartons can be recycled in the curbside recycling bins if you are based in Auckland. However, we realise this isn't accessible for all of our customers across New Zealand and for this reason we've struck up a relationship with a New Zealand company called saveBOARD.
Tell us about your partnership with saveBOARD
saveBOARD is a New Zealand company and the way saveBOARD works is that they essentially collect certain household waste such as our All Good oat milk cartons and they process them into low carbon New Zealand made building materials.
saveBOARD are currently working with local government and community groups to develop drop off points around the country for used beverage cartons. We are also exploring how we can influence the change required to make the recycling of our cartons in NZ, more accessible for Kiwis. The ultimate goal is for used beverage cartons (like ours) to be collected at the curbside recycling bins across the whole of New Zealand.
You can learn more about what they are doing HERE.
Offsetting our carbon
All Good Bananas - We have detailed data gathering processes to track all carbon emissions associated with the production and transportation of our bananas. This includes everything from the inputs used on the plantations to the shipping from Ecuador to New Zealand and the trucking to warehouses and supermarkets. All Good is EKOS certified, meaning we meet strict standards for environmental integrity and the accuracy of our data. By reducing and offsetting our carbon emissions, we are taking tangible steps to support a more sustainable future.
All Good Oat Milk - 100% transportation offset: we’re using permanent native forest carbon credits from New Zealand and the Pacific with EKOS NZ to offset the carbon emissions from transporting this Oat Milk from Sweden to NZ. We measure the carbon footprint of the transport from our manufacturers to the port, the shipping to New Zealand and our export markets, and the inland transport to our retailers and warehouses. This is assessed annually by EKOS.
What is the difference between All Good’s Barista and Original Oat Milk?
The Original is to take home and have as you would regular milk or plant milk. The Barista version has a slightly higher fat content and is the best plant milk for coffee - but it’s also delicious with cereal - like full-fat dairy milk. Both products can be used with coffee.
Where is All Good Oat Milk Made?
All Good delivers the best tasting, best quality oat milk we can to New Zealanders, and our Oat Milk comes from the home of plant milk innovation – Sweden.
We spent three years searching the globe for the best oat milk producer. We were unable to find a manufacturer in New Zealand that was able to produce the best tasting oat milk - that’s also great with coffee. Our Swedish manufacturer has a secret, patented enzyme process that creates the liquid gold you find in every bottle of All Good Oat Milk.
We’re using native forest carbon credits from Aotearoa with Ekos NZ to offset the carbon emissions from transporting this Oat Milk from Sweden to NZ.
How is All Good Oat Milk Made?
Pardon the technical language, but we’re nerds when it comes to milking oats. It’s how we retain the creamy flavour and oat fibre — those ‘better’-glucans — that make All Good Oat Milk all good. Unlike other oat milks, All Good is made from the whole oat, not oat flour or inferior substitutes. The kernels are lightly milled, not ground or blitzed in a blender, and mixed with water and enzymes. These enzymes are the secret to a smoothly milky oat milk.
Here’s how it's done.
First we blend oats and water and we add natural enzymes to break down the oat starch into smaller nutrients, like maltose (also called malt sugar), which naturally sweetens our oat milk. We then remove bran, the loose shells from the oats, leaving the loose fibres — beta-glucans. Now we have an oat base that’s an excellent source of nutrition containing macronutrients, protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Next we add a few more ingredients like rapeseed oil to make our Barista Oat Milk foam beautifully, calcium and vitamins and we pasteurise to extend its shelf life. Once the milk has been heat-treated (pasteurised), the fat droplets are broken down into smaller droplets to make sure all the liquid mixes properly and stays silky smooth. Then we fill our cartons ready to drink.
Do I need to store my unopened All Good Oat Milk in the fridge?
Nope. All Good Oat Milk has a shelf life of 12 months from manufacture, so it can be kept in the cupboard until you’re ready to use it. Once opened, keep it in the fridge and we recommend consuming it within 5 days. Make sure to shake well before use!
